Office of Licensures and Credentialing

Guided by the federal, state, and local education laws, as well as internal policies and procedures, the School of Education’s Office of Licensures and Credentialing supports students, faculty, university partners, and stakeholders in navigating and tracking licensure and credentialing requirements.

Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

About

The Office of Licensures and Credentialing oversees the following:

Licensures and credentialing compliance

Consult with university constituents on the design, development, and implementation of policies, processes, and procedures to ensure program compliance. This includes:

    • Supporting students, staff, and faculty by making them aware of their compliance responsibilities
    • Conducting quality checks
    • Aligning cross-functionally, discussing strategy, and gaining insights into each area as it pertains to program compliance

Research, review, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local education laws, as well as internal policies and procedures related to fieldwork, licensing, and credentialing, to ensure compliance with:

    • California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC)
    • California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS)
    • Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC)

Support the integrity of program compliance from entry through licensure or credentialing

Produce reports that offer valuable insights, data analysis, and documentation to support informed decision-making and facilitate effective communication within the organization

Student support

Provide guidance to students regarding fieldwork, licensure, and credentialing requirements.

Collaborate with districts and community partners to establish clinical and practicum placements that meet accrediting agency requirements while prioritizing students’ best interests.
