About Eric
Eric Maczka serves as the University Registrar and Director of Institutional Research at the University of Redlands. Prior to joining Redlands, Eric held the same role at Midland University in Fremont, Nebraska, where he oversaw the production, maintenance, and use of student academic records, including permanent student files, degree audits, and credit transfers, as well as the academic calendar, catalogs, and student academic policies. He also collaborated closely with deans and department chairs to schedule course offerings and directed university-wide course sequencing and timetabling. In addition, he implemented a new curricular and catalog platform (Coursedog) and worked closely with IT on the roll out of a new student information system.
Before serving as Registrar, Eric was Dean of Student Services at Bryant and Stratton College (Glendale, Wisconsin campus), where he designed and maintained course sequencing for student registration, aligning schedules to meet retention and graduation goals. Earlier in his career, he served as a research assistant and data specialist at the Hudson River Foundation (NY) and as a graduate assistant at Rutgers University in Newark, NJ.
Eric holds a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Leadership from Maryville University of St. Louis, a Master of Science in Global Affairs from Rutgers University-Newark, and a Bachelor of Science in Zoology, Spanish, and Latin American, Caribbean, and Iberian Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
The Office of the University Registrar and Institutional Research
The Office of the University Registrar and Institutional Research supports the University’s academic mission by serving on academic committees, collaborating with administrative offices, and providing positive, student-centered service to learners across the main residential campus, regional campuses, and online programs.
The University Registrar works closely with faculty to develop and implement academic policies that balance institutional standards with the individual needs of students, ensures the integrity of student records, and oversees various academic technology platforms. As Director of Institutional Research, the office leads the University’s efforts to collect, analyze, interpret, and report academic data, serving as the subject matter expert in academic records management. This role ensures discipline in data collection and institutional metadata, providing valuable context for both internal and external stakeholders.
