About Dr. Ko

Dr. Celine Ko is a professor of psychology currently conducting research that focuses broadly on chronic illness, specifically cancer, and the effects of meditation curriculum and mindfulness on stress and academic achievement. 

In her cancer research, her interests are focused around the prevention of cancer, cultural issues and attitudes around screening and prevention of cancer, psychological issues related to enhancing quality of life for cancer patients and their families, and measuring development and validation in Filipino communities. 

Dr. Ko's research on meditation curriculum is a collaboration with the biology and religious studies departments, and contributed to her clinical work on mindfulness-based interventions.
