International Group Travel Proposal Process

U of R International Group Travel and Activities Application Process

Instructions This application may be completed by the U of R Faculty/Staff On-Site Leader or the Responsible On-Campus Officer. The U of R Responsible On-Campus Officer or Faculty/Staff On-Site Leader maintains responsibility for ensuring that international travel adheres to the U of R International Travel Policy and assumes responsibility for all U of R Responsible On-Campus Officers and Faculty/Staff On-Site Leaders Roles and Responsibilities. International May Term Travel Courses: This application must be completed by faculty/staff proposing to lead a travel course that takes place during the CAS academic May Term. More information (resources and a FAQ) for CAS faculty considering developing a May Term travel course can be found here.

International Travel Courses Outside of May TermThis application must be completed by faculty/staff proposing to lead a travel course that takes place during spring break, summer, fall, or spring.

Other International Travel: This application must be completed by faculty/staff for other university sponsored international travel (e.g. athletic team travel, alumni trips, undergraduate/graduate student international independent research, etc.)

Outline of the process:

  1. Complete all sections of the appropriate application and secure any required signatures before hitting submit. If you have any questions or incorrectly submit information, please contact the Office of Global Education at OGE@redlands.edu for assistance.
  2. Once your completed application has been submitted, it will go to the International Travel and Activities Advisory Committee for review.

Please note: Each application has multiple sections. The application does not need to be completed in session; it will automatically save every few minutes and you can sign back into the application to complete it.  The application will log you out after about 15 minutes, if you let it set idle and do not enter information. 

Expectations:

  • The application, including any required signature approvals, will be submitted by the appropriate deadline, based on the anticipated term of travel. Applications close automatically at 11:59 p.m. on the application deadline date.
  • The International Travel and Activities Advisory Committee may choose to grant an excpetion and review late submissions, but this is at the committee’s discretion and not guaranteed.
  • Proposals should be submitted by the appropriate deadlines even if certain aspects of the travel, such as funding or final list of participants, have not been confirmed.
  • The International Travel and Activities Advisory Committee will review the proposal as submitted and will make their decision accordingly.
