Building a Water Utility Network for Joshua Tree National Park

Grace Durham, MSGIS 2021, Cohort 38 and Dr. Ruijin Ma, Geographic Information Science

The current underground water distribution utility network within Joshua Tree National Park has been buried for decades. With the advances in modern technology, data for these underground systems can finally be collected and visualized. The methodology utilized throughout this project include a water utility network developed using ArcGIS Pro, along with a unique web application that utilizes advanced GIS technology to update and store data collected in real time. This will allow the underground utility to be managed, monitored, and updated within a geodatabase for the Joshua Tree National Park.
